18 year old charged with Attempted Murder and Harm

This morning when eighteen year old Lloyd Alexander King appeared before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith, he was charged for Keeping an Unlicensed Firearm and Ammunition. And if that wasn’t enough, this afternoon the teenager appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer where he was additionally charged with Attempted Murder, Use of Deadly Means of Harm and Dangerous Harm. On Monday, police claim they were on routine patrol at the corner of Youth for the Future Drive and Vernon Street when they heard a gunshot and saw King riding away from the scene. They set chase, and when they detained King and searched him on Johnson Street, they allegedly found a rusty thirty-eight caliber pistol and two live rounds of ammunition on him. Just prior to the incident, Belizean tour guide Ronald Rivers was shot, and police claim King did the shooting. This morning when King pleaded guilty to the charges of Keeping an Unlicensed Firearm and Ammunition, he was sentenced to five years behind bars for each charge, to run concurrently since he did not waste the court’s time. For the charges of Attempted Murder, Use of Deadly Means of Harm and Dangerous Harm, King is to reappear in Court on April sixteenth. Rivers, who was shot in the face, remains hospitalized at the K.H.M.H.

This shooting should be easy to solve, if they match the bullet in the victim to the gun that King was carrying. We have a ballistics lab, let’s use it to solve these violent crimes!
