Gangland shooting in late afternoon

And that brings us to today’s brazen broad daylight shooting on the corner of Benbow Street and Kraal Road. At about three-thirty this afternoon, shots rang out and shortly after residents saw two men stagger out of a house pouring blood. News Five was on the scene and freelance reporter Mike Rudon has this story.

This cement house was the scene of a furious spray of gunfire just after three-thirty this afternoon. According to an eyewitness who refused to appear on camera, Kenroy Tillett and his cousin was drinking on this verandah when two men—one dressed in red and the other in black—rode up and chased them into the home. That’s when the eyewitness said she hid inside her house, but heard at least ten to twelve gunshots. And when she looked out next, she saw Kenroy and the other man running outside, covered in blood.

She said they tried to get into this vehicle, a white ford ranger, which was also hit several times by bullets. But Tillett, who appeared to be bleeding from a wound in the neck, could not drive the vehicle and this is where it stalled here on the sidewalk. The eyewitness says the men then ran to the aid of the men and drove them to the K.H.M.H.

Alton Roches

Kenroy is the brother of George Street Leader, Shiny Tillett and the other man has been identified as Alton Roches, a cousin. Roches is the ex-B.D.F. soldier who was charged with Nicoli Rhys for the murder of South Side Gang Leader, Andre Trapp. He was released in September 2011 on the directions of the D.P.P. for the lack of evidence. Tonight there are few other details, but the connection between the acquittal of Rhys today and the shooting of the man who was charged with him for the murder of Trapp cannot go unnoticed. The police has not issued any official details on the shooting.

Live by the gun, die by the gun. It’s a good law.

The attackers need target practice, though — 10-12 shots in a confined home and both the targets are able to run away?

The gang truce was always bad policy, anyway. We need GSU and BDF to be on the streets and pressure the gangs and hunt them down until they are all in prison, dead, or fled. It’s war, it has to be fought that way.

  3. Al says:

Take all gang members and put them on an island, give them their choice of weapons and a equal amount of ammunition and let them settle their beef. Let them rid the country of themselves and send them to hell where they belong. I never thought I would feel this way, I know it is not Godly, but decent citizens need to live in peace. Sorry just have to get my frustration out.

  4. Gone fishing says:

Street criminals get shot and want medical to save them.
Street criminals break into clinic to steal, destroying the whole $200k facility to sell $1000.

Then there is the GOB criminals.
This week only, Hezbollah birth certificate, drivers license, and passport; all for $500.
Why wait in line? Have it delivered for an extra $5.
    How is that investigation going?
Must be swept under, people forget, waiting for the rerun.
    Same joke, different day.
