Mark King calls for minister during casino incident

Minister of State Mark King is on suspension from ministerial duties; the slap on the wrist he got for involvement at a casino brawl in the wee hours of February fifth.  But tonight there is further damning video of the ruckus which started at the Princess Casino in the Corozal Free Zone and continued all the way to the Corozal police station. King’s entourage includes Diego Witz Junior, both are videoed in confrontation with the police. When they get to the police station, continues behaving unruly. The Minister tells a member of his party to get Minister Pablo Marin. News Five’s Jose Sanchez has the story.

Jose Sanchez, Reporting

As the loud group is ejected from the Princess Casino, a cell phone video catches the uproar of the Minister of State Mark King. One of the officers asks one of the citizens to talk to King. A woman then pulls on the Minister’s shirt as he is in a scuffle with a Police Constable.  King raises his hand. Someone yells that they are messing with the wrong person. Two women then help King into the back of a police truck. The second cell phone video shows King standing on the left of the police station in a plaid shirt. He yells out that Diego Witz Junior, whose back is to the cell phone camera, needs to know what are his charges. His friends shout that there are no charges. Then King tells the officers that they don’t need to worry about John, assuming that to be the Minister of National Security, but they need to worry about the Minister of Health Pablo Marin who lives in Corozal.

“Unu no have to worry about John, unu need fi worry about Pablo. He will go to Pablo’s house.”

King goes onto yell that the officers violated the law.

Mark King

“The police officers committed a bunch of violators tonight and mistreated me including the instructing officer. But it was… Go to, go to my vehicle and go to Pablo Marin’s house right now and tell him Mark King is here and we’re in an urgent situation.”

Both officers continue to stand with somewhat lowered heads. Then Diego Witz becomes upset when the officers frisk him but during the yelling from King and his party, the police officers appear quite calm as they lean on the table with their left arm. The video does not show any officer violating King’s rights. At Thursday’s House Meeting I attempted to ask King about the inconsistencies with his statement but he jumped in his vehicle and left the capital without saying a word. Reporting for News Five, Jose Sanchez.

Witz has been charged with unlawfully assaulting a police officer while King was criminally charged for Aggravated Assault, Threatening Words and Disorderly Conduct.

    Lock them up.

Marin’s an incompetent boob anyway, totally useless as Minister of Health [what a joke on the good people of Belize!!!] — but if he tried to interfere with police work, he should be charged for obstruction. I consider King’s words as intolerable threats to the officers, and he’s lucky I won’t be his judge.

We need to toss all these lowlifes out of office at the next election. Let’s all save this information so we can remind ourselves of this incident when it’s time to vote.

He needs to go to jail this corruption needs to stop but until you belizeans get some kind of cojones this will continue the pm should be arrested along with all his ministers and locked up for corruption incompetence and lack of leadership .

This should not be a surprise to anyone, politicians put themselves above the law. If you are connected to a politician you are safe from the law, the very law that they are to protect and uphold.
Wake up people of Belize you are not living in a democracy, you are in a dictator autocracy. Barrow holds the ultimate power and all his underlings benefit from that power. Just listen to Kings speech on the night he was arrested, that speaks volumes about the power of the politicians. Mr Marin will fix everything. My heart goes out to the country because as a people there is no recourse, the country is at the mercy of the politician. I pray the international press would begin to expose the underbelly of this awful government.

KING was charged wit aggravated assault the PM should put him in jail for a week i bet that would set a precedence to the rest. They said suspension without pay u and me know that he will still get his big bills.
