Over the past weekend Jose Pineda was involved in an altercation at Mariana’s bar located in San Ignacio Town where he was beaten to a pulp and remains in critical condition at the K.H.M.H.  Police have arrested and charged Israel Betancourt Perez with Attempted Murder. Perez was among a group of men who allegedly assaulted Pineda inside Mariana’s Bar which is owned by Mariana Galvez, Pineda’s estranged wife. The incident happened between two and two-thirty on Sunday morning. According to Pineda’s relatives, Anna Klaseen says that Pineda was taken by a group of men by knife-point to Galvez’s bar. I’m glad to see the police filed the most serious charges possible. It sounded like attempted murder to me, too.

The incident is proof of my belief that nothing good happens on the streets after midnight.

Let’s pray for the recovery of the poor victim.

And what about this Mariana Galvez- any charges laid on her yet? Doesn’t it say she requested the man be beaten? Such heart for a woman…
