Minister’s Witz and police fight

Diego Witz Jr.

While there was no sign of Minister Mark King near the Corozal Police Station or at the Corozal Magistrate’s Court today, the man he was with when he was escorted to the Police Station very early this morning, was arraigned in Court today. At a little before three this afternoon, twenty-two year old Diego Witz Junior was handcuffed and taken from the Corozal Police Station into the Corozal Magistrate’s Court. Witz Junior, who resides in Punta Gorda, is the man who allegedly punched police officer Nelson Ramos outside the Princess Casino while the officer attempted to restrain an allegedly belligerent and hysterical Minister Mark King.  Today Witz was charged for unlawfully assaulting a police officer. He pleaded not guilty and was offered bail of four thousand dollars plus a surety in the same amount. He is scheduled to reappear in court on April sixteenth.  As he was led out of the Magistrate’s Court to make bail, Witz refused to offer any comment on the incident.

  1. Storm says:

Any relation to the Diego Witz who had a high speed chase from police a couple years back? Why would Minister of State get drunk with this 22-year old?

This case needs deep investigation. Preferably by the DEA.

  2. nationview says:

Agree with storm, and was drug money use for King political campaign??????

  3. Corozalano says:

He is the son of Diego Witz Sr., who is serving time in Mexican prison for drug and human trafficking. Senior was a native of corozal and there growing up i can tell you he was deemed a big drug-lord, he had the money, girls and property… but he squandered it all. Ironically he was nver convicted in Belize, it took the Mexican judicial system to deal with him. Then in 2010 he was arrrested and charged for alledged aprcels of cociane foudn in his vehicle… i wonder what ever happened in that case? did the polcie cover up for him again?

i am very familiar with this family because i once lived in pg.
they think they have it all and could do what ever they want to. any time they get in trouble they just go and the cash to pay off the police and pull their strings. and that shouldn’t be that way. i believe that every one should be treated fairly.
