2 detained for murder of Maskall villager

Ervin Morales

Two persons have been detained in connection with the murder of an elderly man in Maskall Village. Sometime between ten a.m. and twelve-thirty p.m. on Saturday, sixty year old Ervin Morales was murdered inside his bedroom. The discovery was made by a neighbor after being alerted that Morales had not showed up for lunch at the customary time. Morales’s body was found covered with a sheet and quilt. It had multiple chop wounds to the back of the head, left shoulder, left hand and both elbows. Morales, a retiree, lived alone at his house located near the entrance to the village. The motive of his killing is believed to be robbery as his wallet was missing. Tonight, two persons have been detained and police are looking for another person in connection with this homicide.

I hope our police can get all the evidence and follow all the rules required by court, then I hope DPP can win one. This poor victim, a church bellringer, deserves justice, and so do the good people of the Jewel.

Death to all murderers, no mercy, no exceptions.

Living in America and watching the Belize news and seeing how the beautiful country is gotten to this point, is very sad. Killing Irvin and in the suburbs is very scary. The peace that was there is now destroyed by crime.Irvin was my schoolmate, he was a very good person and didn’t deserve this. Irvin you are now in heaven, RIP. I hope that the culprit is caught and rots in hell. Linda
