B.N.T.U. executive discusses crime, economy and the referendum

An executive meeting of the Belize National Teachers’ Union branches will be held tonight in advance of membership meetings later this week as the unions begin to mobilize in response to current issues. Top on the list is crime, the state of the economy, the partially-resolved collective bargaining agreement with Government and the ICJ referendum set for October. B.N.T.U. Belize City president, Kathleen Flowers, told News Five that the meeting is critical to discuss issues and concerns affecting the union and updating membership on union initiatives. A membership meeting is scheduled for one-thirty in the afternoon for Thursday at the Holy Redeemer Parish Hall.
