Senior citizen shot in front of her house

The other victim who is fortunate to be alive is Jennifer Staine, who lives along the canal side of Sibun Street which intersects with Vernon Street. Staine was also standing in front of her house when a gunman blasted her. But why would anyone want to harm the woman? The police say that her son is known to them.

Raphael Martinez, Police Press Officer

Raphael Martinez

“At approximately 7:42 p.m., police visited the K.H.M.H. where they saw fifty-eight year old Jennifer Staine of a Sibun Street address in Belize City with an apparent gunshot wound to the left upper arm. Initial investigations revealed that at about 7:20, Jennifer was at her gate socializing with three companions when she heard the sound of apparent gunshot and thereafter she felt a burning sensation on her arm and then realized that she had been shot. Again police are looking into this incident.”

Elodio Aragon Jr., Deputy Commissioner of Police

“Jennifer Staine, she is the mother of one Minky; his name is—he is well known to the police and therefore police are investigating in regards to that. There are a lot of information out there. a lot of people say they’ve heard this they’ve seen this; the fact is that at the end of the day, we take what we can from these investigations and ensure we prepare a proper case file that will stand up in court. At the end of the day, we must prove beyond a reasonable doubt and that is where the challenge lies.”

In other crime news, police also report on a chopping incident in Spanish Lookout at Rivera’s Grocery Store. Forty-eight year old Andres Ramirez was chopped on the head, cheek and his left pinky finger was cut off as he sat on a cement railing at the store on Friday. Ramirez has identified his attacker as David Duarte who arrived in the village three days before the incident and police believe he has fled to Guatemala.

    HANG THEM ALL,
I love Belize and this is my county, this is where we were brought up back in the days there was no killing, raping or nothing going on, now you cannot even walk on the street without you have to keep looking over ur shoulder, this is getting worst here for my fellow Belizean every day I heard someone dying, the Police and Government and worst the Prime Minister, they need to keep there eyes open an do there job.
ya’ll need to start hang people back again ppl that doing all this !@#$ HANG THEM get back to what ya’ll use to do, because when someone kill ya’ll send them to Jail for 1-2-3 years and let them go and when they are in jail they still have someone out on the street that can do they work you need to HANG them so they cannot communicate with anyone, even when their are in jail they eat, they get money, cake everything they are happy, this will never stop if ya’ll don’t do ur job its you the ppl that can stop this sometimes its the police that give these ppl guns believe it or not where they gonna get it from then they ack like its nothing I think they need to look into that too

  3. Storm says:

I’m with Rod and Kelly as far as hanging killers and attempted killers. Whether you succeed in murder or fail at the attempt, the evil heart is the same, and deserves death.

Who let the Guatemalan chopper into the Jewel, and why?
