He robbed the Magistrate Court’s cash and returns for 5 charges
Seven thousand, six hundred and thirty-four dollars were stolen from the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on December twenty-eighth. The cashier was jacked of the day’s deposit when a brazen robber pulled a gun on the unarmed Special Constable that was escorting her to the bank. Today, the gunman believed to have executed the broad daylight robbery has been captured and was slapped with five criminal offenses when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith. Thirty-one year-old Trenton Webster was shot by a cop when he was detained on January first, but he managed to escape from the K.H.M.H. where was being treated under police guard. He was recaptured on Thursday and has been charged for the Robbery of Adelaide Moya, two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm against Moya and SC Densford Bevans, Harm against Bevans and Escape. Webster pleaded not guilty to all charges except escape, for which no plea was taken since it will be dealt with on indictment. Bail was denied and Webster has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison until February fourth. The robbery occurred at around three-thirty in the afternoon when Moya and Bevans were on Regent Street, only a few feet away from the entrance of the Belize Bank. The gunman reportedly appeared from behind a parked van and ambushed the cashier and special constable.
The police were too gentle when they re-arrested him after his escape.
