Random shooting leaves man clinging to life

Marco Valle

The murder of Orlando Williams occurred just minutes before a shooting, in close proximity at Market Square in downtown Belize City and it is believed to have been the same gunman. Around nine-thirty p.m. on Tuesday, forty-eight year old Marco Valle, an employee of Princess Hotel, had just left work and had purchased food from a vendor near the Battlefield Park when a lone gunman rode pass him and fired a single shot, aiming at his temple. The bullet penetrated the left side and exited the right side of his face. Police were quick to respond and transported Valle to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he is in a critical but stable condition. According to his family, Valle was randomly shot as he had no known enemies. Valle’s sister, Sandra Moguel says that Valle, who is currently on a ventilator, is fighting for his life.

“Last night, I got a call from the doctor stating that my brother got shot in the head. When we started to check, the police told us what really happened and then some other relatives and friends came in. they said that he was at work and after work, he went to the Battlefield Park to get something to eat. And while he went there, he ate and everything and went back on his cycle with another friend and they were talking. He was at the back and somehow a guy just rode by and shot him right on the head. After that the friend said that he went and look at the back cause he said it sounded like pop-shot and he saw my brother on the floor.”

“They shot him for no reason?”

Sandra Moguel

“For no reason. He just went to the Battlefield Park to get something to eat and he got shot.”

Duane Moody

“Around what time was this?”

Sandra Moguel

“After work about nine, nine-thirty. He worked at the Princess Hotel; he is the manager for the cinema.”

Duane Moody

“Mister Marco, what is his condition now?”

Sandra Moguel

“Right now, his condition is critical but stable; he is on a ventilator. Actually the doctor is saying the first forty-eight hours are the critical moments right now and we just have to wait and see what the medication will do. Other than that he is actually fighting for his life. If he gets through this, he will definitely need maxillofacial surgeries, but that is not the priority right now. The priority is for him to get better. He is in a balance right now, so we don’t know what will happen.”

No one has been detained for the latest homicide or shooting.

If the same man shot 2 people within a few minutes, he is too dangerous to try to arrest alive. Identify him, hunt him, gun him down. Once he’s known, put out his identity, so the public can help.

Criminals need to know the law-abiding people of the Jewel mean to stop the violence this year, by any means necessary.

  2. not again says:

These murders just dont happen for no reason….whenever police and particularly the GSU ‘chance’ gang members and lock them up every week for 48 hrs things like this happen. on new years eve police locked up about 50 residents frm di george street area and beat dem and locked them up for no reason and they are tired of it……UDP came into offfice in 2012 and 2012 made history with the most murders ever. GSU constantly go around telling people that they are on a death list created by the prime minister and that this is their last year to live…if you’re constantly told that u will die this year then more that likely u wont care about life.

Bottom line is…..every time these GSU take advantage of people an innocent person dies. If police hadn’t did what they did no one would have died for the New year…..Police could have just conducted a search or have heavy police presence in that area until the party was finished. If these GSU continue to chance and send death threats then i believe 2013 should have more murders that 2012.

Truth are you a gang member do you have inside information, how do u know that there would not have been any murders if the gangs were not locked up. I believe they may have prevented more murders. I say they need to start hanging your boys, this is the only legal way to get rid of them. Too bad the US wont take these gang happy @$$#$% and send them to war zones like Seria and give the the opportunity to do what they like to do, let us see how bold they are when the other guy is equally armed.
I say put the dead or alive order out, bring these cowards in anyway you can preferrably DEAD. It is time to ridthe country of these terrorist threats, the country is under seige by local terrorist, people are hostage, it is not even safe to on the street or in your yard and talk to a friend or neighbour, this is terrorism. Please start treating the gangsters as such, shoot them on sight.

  8. anti viral says:

Truth – It’s not 50 members of the George STreet Area. It’s 50 members of the George Street Gang (GSG) and yes i concur with Al that you are a gang member of the GSG and i hope that they also have you one the death list cause a fool like you don’t deserve to be walking the streets of the city.

  9. truth says:

this is why is wont stop…ignorant plp like u. i like in a gang neighbourhood and i know what goes on. U people have no idea what ‘ghetto’ people go through in this company. Everything is going up except minimum wage and remember that first comes corruption them poverty then crime. I dont knw why they retaliate like that but it starts with the government and the police. u dont understand it until u live it…….police behave just like gang members so this will never change.
