Baptist Church says man accused of sex crime not a pastor

Julio Cesar Garcia

The Baptist Association is distancing itself from Julio Cesar Garcia. Garcia is the man who has been named in the sexual abuse of an eleven year old school girl from Frank’s Eddy. That story broke on Monday and on Wednesday Garcia was charged with carnal knowledge in the Belmopan Magistrate’s Court. The residents of Franks Eddy identified Garcia as a Baptist pastor who had moved to the village three months ago and was ministering at the Baptist Church where in fact, the minor claims, she was abused in one instance. In response to our queries about Garcia, the Baptist Association said today that contrary to what has been reported, Garcia is not the pastor of Franks Eddy and not even a pastor with the Association. However, according to the Association, Garcia is a member of the Church.  The association condemned the actions of Garcia and clarified that the pastor at Frank’s Eddy is Oscar Aguilar.  It is an interesting turn of events because when we checked with the residents of Franks Eddy this afternoon, they confirm that Garcia was ministering as the pastor and that in fact he had been introduced to the congregation by Aguilar. The charges made by the minor against Garcia rocked the Association because as recent as August, another pastor, the principal of the Belmopan Baptist Church resigned after it admitted that he had been having a sexual relationship with a student.

If he isn’t a pastor, why is he apparently permitted to run the church and pose as one? Does the Association have any idea what is being done in its name? I smell negligence.

Hey Rod will you blame Dean Barrow for being racist and bigoted against “Spanish people”(your favorite words)? You ranted and raved the other day when immigration cracked down on illegal’s…

    “Rod says:

Judas barrow is a bigot he is prejudice against anyone who is not black why is it that only the Spanish is being rounded up and sent back have you ever seen any Nigerian or Haitian or Jamaican or Bahamian or any black person being deported ill tell you you never see this that’s because judas barrow and this gov are prejudice against anyone who is not black guan bigot barrow guan”

Remember Rod? Let me fill you in on this fine “pastor”… if you do a little research (which may be a stretch for you, hint start at interpol.int) you will find that he was in the U.S doing the same thing before coming to Belize. He entered legally but overstayed his time which now makes him an illegal. The bottom line Rod is that the newly transplant that has just moved in next door can either be here to seek a better life or is running away from the nefarious deeds he has done and the color of his skin has nothing to do with who he is as a human being. If our immigration system was truly working scum like this would have never gotten the opportunity to destroy the life of an innocent child. His audacity to be calling this child’s parents and begging them to drop the charges against him shows two things 1. That he is not in any way remorseful for the allegations against him and desperate for a way out like a trapped wolf and 2. A failure of our justice system in preventing this animal from having any contact with the victims’ family. When will our children ever be safe? The short answer is never. They are victims of not only these predators but our failed system as well, a system that should not only protect but also prevent.

Belize is small, yet we have an extraordinary high incident rate of child molesting and rapes among our religious and church clergy. Why?

We tend to sweep child rapes by religious bigots and Jesus freaks under the rug. We are in denial.

How could this pedophile not be part of the Baptist organization? The man had keys to the building. He preached and attended the sick as a Baptist minister. Yep, let’s hide this crime under the rug. In three months, Belizeans would have forgotten. Shame. Shame. Shame.

Baptist preachers just love underaged girls!!!

  5. Eda says:

The villagers are saying that this maniac was the Pastor for crying out loud. They have no reason to lie about this. Now the Association is saying that he is not a Pastor. The Village should sue the Association. How could they not have known that Garcia was running that church. People should check in with the Association for different churches in their community to find out if their Pastors are legitimate. Push for a background check to be released in the bulletin. We have to fight for ourselves and our children and don’t let people in position shove things down our throats. come on People. Gte up and stand up for your RIGHTS>
