Over $33,000 in valuables stolen from retired accountant

There is other crime news. A substantive amount of household goods, jewelry, liquor and personal items were stolen from the home of a Belize City resident. Retired Belizean accountant, Berta Espat, says that her house situated at mile one and a half on the George Price Highway was burglarized sometime between eight-twenty and nine-fifty on Thursday morning. The thief or thieves stole over thirty-three thousand dollars worth of items which have not been recovered.

And while no arrests have been made in connection to that burglary, a B.D.F. soldier from Belize City and a sixteen year old student of Burrell Boom have been charged in connection with a vehicle that was stolen from Jose Ricardo Hernandez. The theft was reported on October twenty-second and on Thursday, almost two weeks later, the minor and twenty-five year old Brandon Cacho were jointly charged for the crime of Handling Stolen Goods.

Too bad about another crook in the BDF, but it’s good he was found out and can be dealt with harshly.

  2. Rod says:

This pm and gov. Are a total total failure at preventing crime they are impotent infants trying to do a job they cannot do if they had one ounce of patriotism they would resign after four years of nothing but failed policies and nearly one thousand people dead they still can’t handle running this country I for one wouldnt trust barrow to run a panades shop much less a country he is pitiful and should resign before another two thousand people are dead.

  3. ceo says:

The BDF soldier charged with this crime is one of those that are allowed to search anyone and sieze property.

Now do you understand why they should not be allowed to do this. Be tough on crime but this law is not a solution.
