Criminal tries escape artist as his new career

Said Pike

Three men, who were charged for unlicensed firearms and ammunition back in 2010, were convicted today and sentenced to four years in prison, but one had other plans. After being found guilty, twenty year old Said Pike escaped from the court with prosecutor, Corporal Noel Muschamp in pursuit. The chase went past Brodies, up Albert Street, through the compound of Wesley Primary School and over the back fence. Pike eventually ran into the Human Services building on Regent Street and into the arms of several tourism police officers who assisted Muschamp in detaining him. So after flirting with freedom for about ten minutes, Pike was back in a holding cell at the Queen Street Police Station where a new charge of Escape awaited him. He was taken back to court, pleaded guilty to that charge and was fined one thousand dollars to be paid by November thirtieth. As for the firearm offences, Pike was convicted along with Marlon Budran and Kareem Heusner. They were busted back in 2010 when police searched the third floor of a house on Regent Street and found two nine millimeter pistols loaded with a total of nineteen rounds of ammunition hidden in a pair of boots. The trio was sentenced to four years for the firearms and two years for the ammunition, but both are to run concurrently. At the time of the arrest, Bridgett White and Clifton Flores were also charged, but Flores was murdered on April sixteenth of this year while White was able to prove that she did not know about the weapons in the house.
