3 persons including 2 minors charged for shooting a girl

Two minors, including a fourteen year old, are among three charged for the shooting on La Croix Boulevard in which fourteen year old Desiree Aranda was shot in the back. Last Thursday evening, the trio fired several shots at two persons, but missed and hit Aranda as she sat eating in her house. The teenager underwent surgery on Thursday and was released on Friday. Police have since charged three Belize City youths with a number of charges in connection with this shooting.

“Just to go back to our shooting, where fourteen year old Desiree Aranda was shot on Thursday, thirtieth, Police have since arrested and charged two minors and an eighteen year old, Adrian Alvarez. They have received charges of attempt murder, dangerous harm, aggravated assault, use of deadly means of harm, and conspiracy to commit murder. Alvarez has been charged for conspiracy to commit murder and a fourteen year old has also been charged for the conspiracy to commit murder. The person to receive the first charges is a sixteen year old student of that same area. In an effort to try to curb crime in that area we have put additional patrols in the form of foot patrols, we have motor cycle patrols and we have vehicles. It is an effort to see if we can hold down these incidents from occurring in that area, nuh.”

    seems that an epidemic of student murderers is on the rise….

    I used to believe that keeping youths at school stop them from joining gangs and killing.. but times have changed…… or they remain the same….. rotten apples either in the box or out of it…
    hope they have not spoiled the entire box while at school….

    Now with the educational financial reform finally in place… where educational institutions are run like businesses…. we’ll have more news of students charged for murder…. schools will need to keep them in to maintain their budget…..

    what a good example for the rest of the students!!!
