Butane prices rocket

Almost a month ago the Ministry of Trade, Investment Promotion, Private Sector Development and Consumer Protection, announced a huge decrease in butane prices. The cost per hundred pound cylinder went down by thirty dollars, but it’s heading back up. As of today, the prices from Mexican Importers went up four dollars while the price from Central American importers went up twelve dollars. Noting that the Central American importers are now charging a dollar more than the Mexican importers, the new prices are as follows: in Belize City and Corozal, one hundred and eight or one hundred and nine dollars; in Belmopan and San Ignacio it’s one hundred and ten or one hundred and eleven dollars; in Orange Walk the prices are one hundred and nine or one hundred and ten dollars; in Benque Viejo it’s one hundred and eleven or one hundred and twelve dollars; in Dangriga butane is selling for one hundred and twelve or one hundred and thirteen dollars while in Punta Gorda the prices are one hundred and thirteen or one hundred and fourteen dollars depending on where you prefer to make your purchase.

It is high time that prices for gasoline and butane for San Pedro should be published and monitored. We pay extremely higher prices in San Pedro under the lame excuse of transportation costs. Please look into this Channel 5.
