Have an awesome time with the Liberty Winds Quintet

The Liberty Winds, you might not have heard of them before but they are a renowned classical wind quintet. The five musicians are known for the flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn. They have travelled across North and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia, performing alongside major ensembles and orchestras.  Their collection includes a variety of classical and pop music. On Saturday and Sunday, Belizeans will be able to see the talented musical group, live. Eric Heyden of the U.S Embassy tells us about the two shows scheduled for the weekend:

Via Phone: Eric Heyden, Public Affairs Officer, U.S. Embassy

“Liberty Winds is a wood wind quintet based out of the Philadelphia area in the U.S. This weekend there will be a performance at seven p.m at the Palotti High School on Saturday night. On Sunday there will be a workshop which is to assist Belizean music students here in Belmopan and there will also be a performance here in Belmopan on Sunday which will take place at the George Price Center. In addition to the show, we plan to show them some of the beauties and attractions to Belize because they have done a great deal of international travel and they are coming to us this time from Nicaragua. So we want to show them Xunantunich and a couple of things here that I thing will be appealing to them.”

“And Eric, these performances are free; the admission is free?”

Via Phone: Eric Hayden

“Yes, it is entirely free courtesy of the United States Government and it is something we are entirely happy to share.”

So if you didn’t have weekend plans, you can head out to Pallotti or the George Price Center for the special performances.
