BGYEA and Harmonyville going full steam ahead

Nigel Petillo

Mile forty-one on the Western Highway, better known as Harmonyville, is the pet project of the Belize Grassroots Youth Empowerment Agency (BGYEA).  BGYEA dreamt big and squatted on the land while making plans to develop the area into a community that could be inhabited by first time landowners. BGYEA’s president, Nigel Petillo, somehow got the government to sign onto the project and allowed them to develop the plan. Lots have been parceled and Petillo told News Five via phone, what’s the next step for potential landowners to have a piece of Harmonyville.

Nigel Petillo, President, BGYEA

“Members of BGYEA, Harmonyville were scheduled to meet with the government this Saturday in Belmopan however that date has been postponed to June second. The members of phase one two three and four will be receiving their lease documents along with their purchase price approval letters. Members of phase five and six will be signing that document and on a further date—I believe about two weeks after that date—will be receiving their paper as well. So we are urging all members of BGYEA to contact the office for more details and if anyone wants to contact the office they can call us at 802-4932 or call me, Nigel Petillo at 626-6168. For those new members who want to sign up and become members, they are encouraged to visit at our office in Belmopan, #42 Forest Drive. Bring along a copy of your social security ID along with forty-five dollars. then in the process of identifying more land and liaising with the government to see how  we can acquire more land for our Belizean people. With that we want to say that; I want to announce that all our members be present on June second—that’s a Saturday—in front of the Belmopan Lands Department where they will all be facilitated by the staff of the Ministry of natural Resources in preparing those land documents and have those paper works all sorted out.”

  1. concern Belizean says:

they are thieves who just want ppl money.

  2. Vuk says:

And what proof do you have of that? You can’t make assertions like this if don’t have evidence to back it up, because it would look like you’re trying to create unnecessary conflict.
