Cop busted on Burglary charges

Brandon Hertular

A Belizean businesswoman reported on Monday that a licensed firearm, three cell phones as well as one thousand, six hundred and fifty dollars in cash were taken from her house by two men claiming to be police officers. It turns out that at least one of them was not just pretending to be a cop. Belize City Police Constable, Brandon Hertular has been arrested and charged with Burglary. The incident occurred on Sunday at the home of Shirley Chicas. According to Chicas, she was at home along with her two sons when two men showed up dressed in camouflage uniforms. They identified themselves as police officers and claimed to be investigating a robbery. Chicas says the men demanded that one of her sons hand over his licensed Glock nine millimeter firearm containing fifteen live rounds of ammunition. They also took the phones and cash before leaving.  The officer reportedly told Chicas that the items will be included in the exhibit for the robbery investigations. The second suspect has not yet been detained while Hertular is expected to be formally arraigned for the Burglary on Thursday.

On a serious note, I hate to see this because the Police Department is really doing a great job.
