Charges dropped against wife; but cop locked up
It was a very emotional morning for Corporal Gino Peck and his wife, Loretta Peck. The couple was busted on January twenty-first at their home and had been charged with firearm and ammunition offences. But this morning, when they returned to court, only the corporal was charged and his wife was freed. After she exited the courtroom, the huge number of police officers who came in solidarity with the Corporal and his wife was overwhelming.
The D.P.P., Cheryl-Lynn Vidal informed the court that her office is withdrawing the charge against Loretta and that Corporal Peck is being served with new charges on two counts of kept ammunition without a gun license for a point thirty eight live rounds and twelve gauge cartridges and one count of kept prohibited ammunition for a point forty five round of ammunition. Peck pleaded not guilty to the three firearm and ammunition offenses. Due to the nature of the offenses, bail was denied and Peck was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until April seventeenth.Email This Story
