P.U.P. files for Judicial Review of Corozal Elections Office

Florencio Marin Jr

Unlike Severo Guerrero who had unimpeded access to the voters list, a P.U.P. standard bearer was denied a request to view the binders of electors. And that matter is heading to the courts.   The People’s United Party this afternoon filed for judicial review of a recent decision by the Chief Elections Officer, Josephine Tamai. P.U.P. chairman, Henry Usher, is applying to the court to revisit Tamai’s decision on Thursday to refuse a request by the Corozal south east area representative and standard bearer Florencio Marin Jr, to inspect the binders of his electoral constituency. Usher’s application is on the grounds that it is unreasonable, irrational and in ultra vires of the People’s Representation Act since the information is public documents and should be available for scrutiny to maintain the integrity of democracy. It is also known that the P.U.P. intends to apply to the court to ensure that there are no illegal registrations.

He should know the rules. Access to those records are to be corrupted at night, and must wait in line. If sunrise comes he must come back another night and wait, probably until after the elections when all the bookkeeping is cleaned up. He should have bought the VIP UDP pass, but it is not available to opposition, TOO BAD next time. Watch out for door when leaving, it’s dark out there.

The c.e.o did not tell d pup that they r not able to view the binders any at all…permission was not granted to view within the period they asked for but that they can be facilitated at another time and that they can reapply…n reffering to d act it did not say that the political parties shall be granted access to the binders it states that the Chief elections officer MAY grant permissionso it is not. a right but a privilege.

Opposition does not learn well. If they keep disobeying UDP a constitutional amendment will be passed preventing them from going to the courts. Maybe get rid of courts all together and contact justice to the best street gang to woop those pups.

The whole thing is a circus! How on earth can any one have confidence in our system like this. Even if all of it is a lie but there is enough to create doubt and mistrust.

I am sure they will spend every dollar in the vault and waste everything before they leave. I guess this can be justified by saying that the last guys did the same thing on their way out of office.

    Who will stop it?
