GSU gun and ammo bust in San Ignacio

The Gang Suppression Unit carried out an operation in the twin towns of San Ignacio and Santa Elena on Sunday morning; their targets were gang members and reputed drug traffickers operating in the Cayo District. At six o’clock in the morning, the GSU searched a house occupied by a reputed drug peddler on Flamboyant Street, San Ignacio.  Nothing incriminating was found, but eighty-four grams of cannabis were found inside an unfinished two storey building across the street. No one was found in the area.

David Galindo

In another raid at eight a.m., the GSU searched the premises of the Galindo family on Perez Street in Santa Elena. They found a nine millimeter Smith and Wesson Pistol for which twenty-three year old Joel Galindo could not produce a license. Joel and his common-law-wife Melanie Perez Rudon were jointly charged with Kept Unlicensed Firearm. Three other buildings on the property were searched but nothing incriminating was found. In the yard, however, the officers discovered four hundred and five grams of cannabis, a nine millimeter Beretta Pistol loaded with six live rounds of ammunition and a nine millimeter Smith and Wesson Pistol loaded with eight live rounds of ammunition.

Melanie Rudon

Minor Galindo and Stephanie Gordon were charged along with Rudon on two counts of Kept Firearm without a Gun License, Kept Ammunition without a Gun License and Drug Trafficking. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the other occupants of the premises; David and Jonathan Galindo as well as David and Mirna Young. In the lot adjacent to the Galindo’s property, three twelve gauge cartridges, one hundred and four grams of cannabis and sixteen nine millimeter hollow point rounds of ammo were discovered. Those items were taken in as found property.

DID THE POLICE HAVE A SEARCH WARRANT?????????? Just asking…..

  2. Islander says:

After inspecting the picture I can assure you that one round is .380 . In Europe they call it 9mm Kurtz, 9mm short and 9mm corto. That should be an extra charge

  3. Emerildez Montenegro says:

    AT-LAST !!! AT LONG LAST !!!
IT HAD TO BE THE GSU, THANKS GSU, WE CAN BREATHE A SIGH OF RELIEF !!!!
GRACIAS GSU, WE LOVE YOU BRAVE BOYS, KEEP IT UP PLEASE !!!!

  4. from the west says:

I agree with Emerildez Montenegro, let’s highlight the success that the police have.

  5. dracula says:

@ earl grey the police no need a search warrant once they are looking for firearms. Everyone in Santa Elena and San Ignacio know these guys are gun tooting thugs. Its about time someone grew a pair of cohones and did something. keep up the good work GSU

  6. Earl Grey says:

So ….THE POLICE CAN SEARCH ME and YOU FOR GUNS without PROBABLE CAUSE?????
That gives them FREE REIGN to DO WHATEVER THEY WANT, then say that THEY WERE LOOKING FOR GUNS.

IF THEY ARE SO SURE OF FINDING GUNS, they could GET A JUDGE TO SIGN A WARRANT….or you and I are at the mercy of tyrany in A POLICE STATE.

  7. Mellow says:

Everyone knows that the same police is the reason for one to arm themselves, they are either ALWAYS LATE to the scene or show up the following day!!!!!!

  8. Nero says:

@Emerildez Montenegro……and to all you other selfish people out there shouting thanks to GSU…….Shout praises only if you know what exactly GSU hav done to the innocent children as well.Yes even minor who happens to be a family member just, doesn’t even reside in the premises and attending primary school, at level 6,upon the approach of his PSE has also been arrested innocently and taken to the Hattiville Prison. This is unfair to the child who is probably shedding tears behind bars. As a mother I am very much concerned because this seems to be unfair..Come on people say something and let something be done nw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This is awful.

  9. Emerildez Montenegro says:

I shout praises because I KNOW for a fact who the GSU busted there at the Cayo District, Santa Elena area. I really KNOW those people that were busted.I never would ever shout praises if I knew that the GSU hurts any innocent people, none at all. Many many other times I read about the Gsu , but I am not sure of those other times, so I do NOT praise , period.
That is not selfish, jail was made for humans, I have been to jail many times, but I was at fault and the law is the law. If the GSU have hurt your loved ones , I am sorry , I never intended to hurt anyone by shouting praises, but I shouted ONLY because I know that the GSU this time did a GOOD for heaven job. And that family have never hurt me at all, but I as a citizen am afraid of guns out on the streets, and anyone also should be.

  10. Demetrio Hauskein says:

Not at all times the gsu is correct, 100% correct is nearly impossible for humans.

  11. western citizen says:

i agree with Nero 100%. it was very unfair for the minor to be sent to jail. I know these people personally and i feel very sorry for them. one of the girls arrested was my very very good friend and she has children who are suffering because of the absence of their mother! and for the person shouting PRAISES to the GSU, that was so uncalled for!!!!!!!

  12. KARMA IS A bITcH! says:

IM GONNA TAKE EVERYTHING TO THE POINT! THE GSU DID AN EXCELLENT JOB, THEREFORE I PRAISE THEM AND GIVE THEM THANKS FOR A JOB WELL DONE! IF THAT WOMAN RUDON HAS CHILDREN, I DO NOT FEEL ANY SORROW FOR HER BECAUSE THOSE DOGS CALLED THE GALINDO BROTHERS HAVE ALSO HURT MANY OTHER FAMILIES! I WONT CALL ANY NAMES LET THAT STAY IN THEIR CONSCIENCE! THOSE GUNS WHICH THEY FOUND ARE THE SAME GUNS THEY USE TO KILL PEOPLE! IT IS SAD THAT MOST OF THE TIME THEY PAY OFF THE POLICE, BUT LET ME TELL U THIS, “EVERY DOG HAS THEIR DAY” AND THE GALINDO BROTHERS HAVE TO PAY FOR WHAT THEY HAVE DONE!

THE LITTLE BOY WHO IS IN PRIMARY SCHOOL AS THEY HAVE MENTIONED, IS THEIR LITTLE BROTHER. HE MADE IT HIS BUSINESS TO SHOW THE POLICE EXACTLY WHERE HIS OLDER BROTHERS KEEP GUNS AND DRUGS! I COULD BET U THAT U GUYS DID NOT KNOW THAT. NOTHING HAPPENED TO HIM. HE IS GOING TO SCHOOL! OK! IF YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING, KEEP YOUR COMMENTS TO YOURSELF! PEACE!
