Funeral of slain 9 year old Aaron Pope

The funeral for nine-year-old Grace Primary Student Aaron Pope was held this afternoon. Pope was killed and his sister, Kadisha Saldano, was injured while they both slept at their home on George Street early Saturday morning. Family, friends, and Housing Minister Michael Finnegan attended a two o’clock ceremony at the Queen Street Baptist Church. As the tears flowed, the crowd flooded onto the steps to say goodbye to the youth who was brought into the world innocent and remained innocent all his life. The family granted News Five permission to capture them on camera at their most sensitive time, since Pope’s passing has shocked the nation.

At the conclusion of the procession, nine-year-old Aaron Pope was laid to rest at the Lord Ridge Cemetery.

this is very sad that a life is taken so young and no one will punish for it. this was unnecessary and a way the gangs will keep the city hostage. everytime they don’t get what they want they threaten the innocent ones.

  4. Earl Grey says:

It is STRANGE THAT THE CHURCH has NOTHING TO SAY ABOUT (Aaron) POPE.

The Church can FIGHT UNIBAM, little girlie-men, BUT THE CHURCH HAS NOTHING TO SAY OR DO ABOUT VIOLENT CRIME even when INNOCENT CHILDREN ARE MURDERED…… explain.

  5. BMNJ says:

During the upcoming general election, we should have an extra ballot for Belizeans to vote whether or not capital punishment should become effective again. Social groups should sign up and manage that section of the poll on election day. If the outcome is ‘YES’, the ruling government should sign the bill right away and start to hang everyone that are on death roll IMMEDIATELY.

once politicians do-not agree with what will not benefit them thay scratch it off or change the laws, thats how dean barrow is behaving NOW, he changes the laws as he pleases for his own benefit and cronies, thousands of Belizeans voted for an elected senate and he disaproved it,thousands more sign for a referendum if the many thousands of Belizeans would want the 9th amendment-now passed the 8th amendment, and it was regected by dean barrow, why because he is collecting the millions of profits and his cronies while using the name of the Belizean people AGAIN for his benefit, and what do we get -NOTHING,and now is buying votes with baskets of HAMS AND TURKEYS AND WHEN MARCH 7th comes millions of $$$$$$$$$ will be their to throw away and pay the BELIZEASN PEOPLE AGAIN,hope the people are smart and have woken up from dean barrows dictator nightmare, with dean barrow Belize is not moving forward we are heading bakwards…..if he comes or any of his UDP ministers or cronies comes and offer us money for our votes, mek WE tek it and VOTE AGINST THEM UDP, because if he WINS then we have fi get ready for MORE KILLA VAT”,WE WILL END UP PAYING BAK WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY OURS,BELIZEANS WAKE UP-

  7. Ruthy says:

Mr Grey, the church has been speaking out against all kinds of evil from day 1. When last have you been to church? The reason why they came out publicly with UNIBAM is because these girly-men are trying to change the law. I don’t hear the murderers advocating to change the law that says murder is a crime…but I hear Caleb loud and clear. I hope you understand the difference there. The church and all peace-loving Belizeans are waiting for the government to carry out the law against murder. Why aren’t they hanging?I agree with BMNJ.

  8. wise says:

If we know the politicians are no good! why are we clamoring for their attention and not doing a thing ourselves? why not discuss what can or should be done? maybe someone decides to try an idea or two, don’t you think?
