Cop charged for alleged rapes of woman

Lincoln Lewis

There is still more crime to report. A police officer is facing serious criminal charges for allegedly raping a woman twice in the month of December. Today twenty-eight year old Police Constable Lincoln Lewis was arraigned on two counts of Rape and a single count of Escape. He was escorted to court heavily guarded by his fellow officers. Lewis pleaded not guilty to the charge of Escape. There was no objection to bail, but the prosecution raised concerns about threatening text messages and phone calls that the victim claims she has received. Lewis’ Attorney, Sharon Pitt’s Robateau, submitted that he has denied threatening the complainant, saying that he would not do anything to hinder his own this case. Robateau also assured the court that her client would not be a flight risk and said there is no good reason why bail should be denied. Senior Magistrate Frazer offered bail in the sum of eight thousand dollars under the condition that he does not interfere with the victim. The twenty-five year old woman alleges that Lewis raped her on December twentieth and again on the twenty-fourth.  And according to police, when he was initially arrested on December twenty-seventh, PC Lewis escaped from lawful custody. The matter has been adjourned until February sixteenth.
