Body of 79 year old man found

The badly decomposed body of seventy-nine year old Jose Ku, a resident of Orange Walk, was discovered on Tuesday in a grassland several miles outside of August Pine Ridge.  The elderly villager was reported missing by his family over a month ago.  On October eleventh, he set out on foot heading to his son’s house to recover an item, believed to be a machete, that’s the last time he was seen alive.  Earlier this week police were called out to an area approximately four miles away from the village where they came across a body in a pond.  Ku’s remains were missing both an arm and a leg, and according to police press officer Sgt. Fitzroy Yearwood, he had been decapitated.  An investigation into the discovery of Ku’s body is ongoing; meanwhile Orange Walk police are treating the incident as a homicide.

“A post mortem examination was conducted on the remains that was discovered Tuesday. This post mortem was inconclusive because of the advance state of decomposition. The victim believed to be Jose Ku, positively identified by family members, because of his clothing and other distinguishing marks. This body, the head was decapitated and both hands. But because of the clothing, this person was reported missing on the eleventh of October by family members and he was discovered by a villager somewhere about four or five miles west of the village of August Pine Ridge in what appeared to be a stream or creek about ten feet deep and about six feet wide. Police retried the body, Dr. Estradabran conducted a post mortem on that body yesterday’s date but it’s inconclusive. We are treating this as a homicide because of course this man was reported missing and we found that body in that certain condition noh.”
