Cancer patient needs help

Deniesia Tillett

While Riverol is enjoying her good fortune, forty-nine year old Gilda Tillett, a mother of eight children, needs assistance for medical attention abroad for cancer. Tillett’s daughter, Denesia came to News Five today hoping to get public attention and generosity on her other’s plight. Denesia says that her mother has exhausted treatment in Belize and now needs to go abroad.

“My mother has cancer, she’s in the hospital so I am just pleading, asking the public if they can assist us in any kind of way. We will accept, please anything. She has cancer the hospital says they can’t do anything for her here so we need fi ker her abroad so we are asking for any kind of donation if they can please assist us.”

“Your mom is currently suffering with cancer. Can you tell me how long she has been suffering from it?”

Deniesia Tillett

“Okay. She has cervical cancer for four months now and she went to the cancer center in Dangriga and they say they can’t do nothing fi ah and wi still di wait fi ih treatment and the longer ih tek now ih di stand bad suh wi just di ask if anybody could please help us.”

    All ladies from the age of 18 you need to get your PAPSMEAR to detect Ovarian/Uterus cancer some type can be deadly and the other noncancerous which in either case you would still want it removed. This doesnt mean it won’t grow back, but it is a little relief for a couple of years until you reach menopause.

    I am sure at this point this family does not need to hear what they should have done, they are asking for financial advice not medical advice. I am also sure that most if not all women knows about papsmear and early dectection. Lets see how we can help and keep our responses up beat and positive

    What’s her HIV status! 8 kids, with how many fathers! The risk factor for cervical cancer is the number of sexual partners and their partners. Is the Human Papilloma Virus vaccine available in Belize and are our sexually active women getting their annual pap smears. Cervical cancer is PREVENTABLE. @Sasha, good attempt at public service announcement but a pap smear does not detect ovarian cancer. Get your pap smear, ladies.
