Is Mike Singh out of Caribbean Shores’ race?

Mike Singh

The Municipal elections in March 2012 is slated to come before the General Elections but the internal political party conventions are becoming even more energized than the race between the P.U.P. and the U.D.P. The situation in Caribbean Shores is becoming very fluid. The media speculated and conducted interviews with replacements for U.D.P. area representative Carlos Perdomo, before he announced his departure. And during the Prime Minister’s Quarterly Press Conference on Wednesday, Perdomo said he was not stepping down, but stepping aside and endorsing businessman Mike Singh. While stepping aside, Perdomo also bestowed his division’s political officers and machinery upon Singh. Singh has made several appearances in senior government positions. But there may be another change to the Caribbean Shores landscape. Word to News Five is that Singh may be side-stepping and giving up his bid for Caribbean Shores. At this moment, one of the political aspirants, Chandra Nisbet Cansino, is meeting with Singh, and if the meeting goes well, Singh may offer his support to her. That is if the unconfirmed reports of Singh’s departure are accurate. And who is Nisbet Cansino? She’s on the news at least once a year participating in the Ride Across Belize, which is a charity fundraising event organized by the Social Security Board, where she works. But if you live in the Caribbean Shores area, you’ll be seeing much more of Cansino as she hits the campaign trail with the hopes of becoming the U.D.P. standard bearer.

I would like 2 see Ann Marie get the nod. So that if she wins the election we can have a female minister with a serious portfolio instead of being given a non entity ministry. As for Nisbet-Cansino, I do not think she has as much name recognition as Santi or Ann Marie.

One wanna be crook out and other crooks in. Belize will not get better unless we change the laws.
Run for minister and after 10 years you are executed. That way only the ones who do care for our country will run for minister knowing they will be a martyr at the end of their term and have done Belize good.
