Out on bail, burglar caught again

Cruz Anthony Allen

Cruz Anthony Allen, a Belize City resident, was recently granted bail for burglary. And almost like dejavu, Allen was back in court on a similar charge today. Chief Magistrate, Ann Marie Smith told Allen that because he has several previous convictions for crimes of dishonesty and other burglary charges pending before the court, she will remand him to prison. Allen pulled out the breadwinner card and told the Chief Magistrate that his family and his mother depend on him since he is the only one employed. Allen is accused of burglarizing Fabro’s Limited, located on Freetown Road.  It is alleged that he stole, a television set, a stereo with two speakers, computer accessories, a digital camera, and footwear, valued at a total of two thousand four hundred and ten dollars. Police say that Daniel Fabro caught Allen red handed burglarizing his business place.  Prosecutor, Sergeant Egbert Castillo objected to bail being offered to Allen because the victim caught him in the act.

  1. Storm says:

Judges here are WAY too easy granting low bail, so crime pays in Belize. Bail is just a cost of doing business for the gangsters.
