Several charged for Farm Center botched robbery

Eight persons were arraigned today on a slew of charges in connection to the midday robbery at the Farm Center on Tuesday. A seventeen year old minor, Mervin McDonald and Andrew Talbert were charged with two counts of robbery. That’s for stealing a wallet containing personal documents and twenty-five dollars in cash from Duane Humes as well as a Lugar Brand Pistol with seventeen live rounds and another wallet containing four hundred and seventy dollars from Godwin Pena. The minor and twenty-one year old Rodney Rowland were charged with two counts of Handling Stolen Goods as police claim they were found with the wallets and cash that were taken from Humes and Pena. McDonald and Talbert along with Alliea Augustus and Danika Young are also charged with Handling Stolen Goods, Kept Firearm without a Gun License and Kept Ammunition without a Gun License. They were allegedly found in possession of Pena’s gun and ammunition. Add to that long list, a charge of Drug Trafficking which was levied against those four persons as well as Vanessa Green and Baron Anderson. That charge is for four hundred and thirty grams of cannabis that police recovered while making the arrest on Tuesday. The eight persons appeared before the new Chief Magistrate Ann-Marie Smith and pleaded not guilty to all charges. The minor, McDonald, Talbert, Augustus and Young were all remanded to prison while the others were offered bail. In court today, the seventeen year old also complained to the Chief Magistrate that he hasn’t been in an ID parade.
