Woman beats boy and speaks of alleged attempted rape

Marsha Smith

Also in court, a Belize City woman pleaded guilty to a charge of common assault against a twelve year old boy. The child reported that on Tuesday thirty-two year old Martha Smith slapped him several times and kicked him in the back, causing him to fall.  While Smith doesn’t deny the allegations, she told the court that the minor and a group of boys frequently pass through her yard on Caesar Ridge Road and they recently tried to rape one of her female relatives. The young girl was left traumatized and Smith says that since the alleged rape attempt, the boys have been constantly provoking her. She claims that she has sought help from police but to no avail and she attacked the boy because she’d had enough. Smith was fined one hundred and fifty dollars plus cost of court, which is to be paid by October fifteenth. Of note is that Smith is not to be confused with the Marsha Smith, who leads the Southside Masqueraders carnival group.

  1. I Have Awaken says:

See, this is the goddamn problem with this retarded thing we call law. It is ignored when people try to use it, and when people have to protect themselves, it jumps into action to punish those the law didn’t protect to begin with.

  2. MADDYVANDIJKDEREALISTO says:

Even though you took matters into your own hands, this may not be the best action taken in this situation.

The police are still getting paid for not doing their jobs, this boy and the rest of his anti–social friends should have been arrested and punished for attempted rape.

We can blame the parents that their kids have no respect, discipline, nor love in their hearts, but the truth is they are Belize next future criminals.

  3. Al says:

These boys are learning early that the police are ineffective. If these boys understood that they would be prosecuted for bad behavior, they would think before they do things. These boys already have the belief that they can do anything and get away with it. I agree with Maddy, these are our future criminals. My question is where are the parents. These same parents are the ones who will get on TV and cry for their good boys who do not have one enemy. Prosecute the parents for neglence, for failure to control their minor children.

  4. cindy says:

And yet every one wants to blame the ministers. if that would have been my child i would beat him out too. stupid police should have lock him out and minimize one criminal for the future. we need COPORAL PUNISHMENT. the poor kids that this was implemented still get beat so put this thing across and lets have that discipline we need.! Patrick faber i hope your kids in the future dont beat you up.!

  5. Justice says:

Ok sincr that did not work, wear a mask and beat the crap out of him!

  6. BMNJ says:

We need to form a watch group within the neighborhood. Those airheads & zombies will not give up until they get what they wanted. And when they come around again trying to get the poor girl, we’ll jump into action and beat the $#!% out of them. Remember, unity is strength. The police CANNOT arrest the whole neighborhood and we’ll have the Belizean public behind us. This country has a judiciary system that is retarded, protecting & favoring the criminals only.

  7. Mark says:

was not right in the eyes of the law. but only frustrates, angers and makes us violent when it happen to us. I almost chop some lazy, ill-grown men! who attemped to broke into my vehicle for the THIRD time!.. but instead of complaining i have a suggestion. the police need to be more proactive, they should spearhead neighborhood watches, document reports/complaints, have initiative to pretend to be detectives, do follow-ups on complains, make their job more exciting , watch law and order and learn tactics, make connections, challenge each other to see who can catch the thieves in town…BECAUSE the criminals ARE doing better than them, everytime they broke in a vehicle an take your battery, cd player etc,,, they are becoming better in that “job”.. it becomes easier the next time, and for sure they brag among them selves how they do it… THEY TAKE THEIR ‘JOB’ SERIOUS !!!! THEY WANT TO BE BETTER NEXT TIME!!!
