Shane Gillett charged for murder of 1st Prime Minister’s brother

Samuel Price, the brother of first Prime Minister, George Cadle Price, was bludgeoned to death inside his home sometime between April fifteenth and sixteenth. Police initially detained two minors and an adult for questioning but they were subsequently released. Today, a Burrell Boom resident, Shane Gillett, was charged for Price’s murder. Gillett was escorted to court and appeared unrepresented before Chief Magistrate, Margaret Gabb McKenzie. The break in the case reportedly came after police cracked down at the house of a relative and obtained information that led to the arrest.  Price was found dead by a family member who routinely checked on him at his Mile Five Northern Highway home called Tarpon Cove. His body was found in the bathroom. There were signs of violence to the head. Price lived alone and his house had been targeted numerous times by robbers.

  2. Al says:

To take a man’s life for a few dollars and some merchandise is unforgiveable. If rthis man is found guily and I say If, please do nort lert him see freedom for the rest of his life. This is surely a case for the death penalty. Mr Price worked for what he had, and for this person to covet his goods enough to kill him for whatever he got should be made to forfeit his life since he places no value on living. In the Bible when the thief was found they forfeited an arm, if it was good enough for God’s people, then it is good enough for the ungodly.

  3. Justice says:

The law should be that they get killed the same way they killed their victim! But with our worthless excuser of a pm we have no hope.

  4. Truths says:

It won’t come as a surprise then that the PM meets with a murder(s) then to see how he can assist and calm things down..

after all the gang leaders and members get the protection . When he is too busy and cannot provide for Belizeans on a whole.

  5. TIRED says:

SHOW HIS FACE FOR EVERYONE TO SEE!! This is what negotiating with criminals bring. Doug Singh and Barrow have blood on their hands!!!!

  6. Charlie Price says:

My uncle’s death will not go unpunished. JUSTICE WILL BE DONE…one way or another.

    R.I.P. Uncle Sam…….we miss you.

  7. Michelle price fortun says:

His death will never overshadow his life, he was a hardworking man that was enjoying his life where he wanted to be, near his loving family. I miss you grandpa, may you rest in peace, I love you, Michelle.

BELIZE i am speaking in general you need to tighten u belt or else tragedy is in store for you. From the moment criminals are committing crimes and not being punished for it tells you something is wrong. It sickens and angers me to hear the news start with the death count for the weekend and no one to pay for the crimes. Walk by shooting, ride by shooting innocent people getting killed because of mere ignorance and not just any people our loved ones fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters and heart wrenchingly infants. And you know what’s worst because no one saw or no one wants to speak up. Belizeans no more cry on the government because we are the government it time to UNITE FIRM AND STRONG AND TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY OUT OF THE HANDS OF THE CRIMINALS, starting from the criminals in suite the government, justice system, security force (police), customs, immigration right down to the little man. time to clean of the mess. IT’S THAT TIME FOR A CLEAN UP CAMPAIGN BELIZEANS. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LAND OF THE FREE? IT’S TIME TO TAKE BACK WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY OURS AND WEED OUT THE GARDEN. BELIZEANS IT’S THAT TIME… CRIMINALS DON’T HAVE RIGHTS VICTIMS DO!! BELIZE U DA FI ALL AH WI!!

breda man lets be careful maybe there is a hereo out there that is eradicating these skunks in the community….perhaps the its because the system is failing so someone took up the burden……we are living in the last days and the only person to save us is the Almighty Father up Above……I am sure satan is making enuff room for the government and their affiliates……. these ministers were elected by the people to serve them but its the other way around they are serving themselves and making sweetheart deals and corruption at the highest levels …… if we dont do something then we just have to take our lick……. they are taking advantage of us and we just talk talk talk and continue to talk…….when will we stand and fight for our rights……who have to make the first move…..i prefer to fight for what we believe in that is right and die now than die with the guilt that i could have made a difference if ever i had stood up…david and goliath
