National Football team beats Grenada 2-0
But there is some good news to report; team Belize continues to perform well on the road to World Cup 2014 in Brazil. The national football selection played its third pre-qualifying match-up at the St. George’s Grenada National Stadium today and took down the Grenadian team on its own turf with a final score of three-nothing. The first goal was scored by Deon McCauley at the eleventh minute and Harrison Roches sent the ball back into net at the thirty-five minutes into the game. McCauley delivered his second goal of the match eighty-ninth minute while the defensive players did their part to keep Grenada from scoring. It’s the third win in pre-qualifiers so far, having defeated Montserrat in two games. We note that following the win, the Minister of Sports was gloating over the victory; turning a complete one hundred and eighty degree from his original stance. Minister John Saldivar congratulated the team and says that today’s win sets the stage for Tuesday’s game against the Guatemalan National selection, which will be played at the F.F.B. field in Belmopan. That match will be broadcasted live on Channel Five. Belize’s return match against Grenada will also be at the F.F.B. Field on October seventh.
