Charges dropped against wife and babysitter in Menjivar shooting case

Mike Menjivar

The preliminary inquiry in the case against La Cabana Bar owner, Mike Menjivar, started today in Belmopan before Magistrate Adolph Lucas Junior. Attorney, Arthur Saldivar, made a no-case submission, arguing that Menjivar was protecting his property on May twentieth when a shootout erupted during a Gang Suppression Unit raid at his property. Saldivar’s reasoning is that the GSU arrived at four a.m. while Menjivar and his family were asleep. He added that no notification was given and the locks were broken, causing his client to think that the house was being burglarized. Two guns, registered to Menjivar and his wife, Ileana, were also confiscated after the raid, but a forensic report has not yet been provided to determine which weapon was used. The case continues next Tuesday when prosecutor, Lucio Shal, will be responding to the no case submission. The Director of Public Prosecutions has withdrawn the charges against Ileana and their housekeeper, Rumilda Perez.

“No money, no law” “drug money, the law shines for the criminals”

  3. Joe says:

I am not in the criminals’ side – and I don’t even know if this guy is involved in any criminal activity – but one thing I will say – If anyone comes in normal vehicles opeing my doors – I will defend my family till death (and that means someone will go with me). Why not wait for more information and catch the guy red handed instead of listening to “shush”!!!

Or maybe this police guy was refused something from this cabana man. Who knows. Police in high positions are arrogant!!!

Excuse me? Do You Have The Evidence? lol
    shut your mouth…..HATERS!!!!!

  5. Dan Armeneau says:

Even a dim-wit el-cheapo lawyer would make the OBVIOUS choice of a “no case” submission. After all…, what was found in GSUs hours long raid and search?

    I Have Awaken -

You sound like a not so wide awake bitter soul. Poorly disguised accusations and PRECIOUS LITTLE evidence. Why don’t you man up and provide some proof? You have none and neither does the GSU!
