Will the public profit from Telemedia acquisition?

The government has now twice nationalized Belize Telemedia, as it says, for public purpose. But will the public really profit from the acquisition? In our last poll we asked viewers if they think the consumers or lawyers will reap the benefits. Seventy-six percent voted that the lawyers on both sides of the legal battle will deepen their pockets while the other twenty-four percent believe that the takeover is good news for consumers. One of persons who texted their comment to our IMS said “the consumers will continue to pay taxes and those taxes will be used to pay the lawyers who are getting rich off the government’s endless court cases”

Anonymous great point. When will we come into the civilised world and allowed to use skype and see relatives abroad? Even in the jungles people around the world as long as internet available they can skype but not so in BZ. Even if you access it, its unreliable that you give up in the end.
