Prime Minister speaks about Chamber of Commerce’s behavior

Dean Barrow

As you know, from very early the Chamber of Commerce took a position in respect of the process used for government’s acquisition of private property. They have raised the question of who will pay the hundreds of millions in costs to compensate the investors in B.T.L. and B.E.L. Will taxes have to go up? Will Belize be able to attract foreign investors when the government is taking over entire industries? Investment has already dropped by more than half since B.T.L.’s initial takeover in 2009. Will local businessmen feel confident enough to invest in the Belizean economy? This morning, the head of the Chamber of Commerce said she thinks not. Kay Menzies has come under direct attack from the government and at the special sitting the Prime Minister said that the Chamber’s behavior was deviant.

Dean Barrow

“I lay stress on what I’ve already said should be self-evident, only because of the position taken by some private sector entities and especially the Belize Chamber of Commerce. They act as though Government’s acquisitions are in and of themselves aberrant, that this is deviant behavior. Nothing could be farther from the truth; and that kind of declaration reveals the Chamber Executive to be wearing the worst sort of ideological blinders. The slightest degree of reflection, or the sketchiest amount of research, would have shown them that public acquisition of private property is today a commonplace tool of statecraft and government practice.”

That lady from chamber couldn’t make a statement on ehr own, they had to have had a meeting and came up with a resolution and thereby their statement. He is tooooooo fuuuuullllll of himself. Boy if you wrong this time with the CJC you will have to swallow a lot of stinking vomit. Thing is i feel he will stall all this CJC thing for as long as he wants so he may have time to go to the polls and try to fool the people. EVERY FOWL GAT HIS SUNDAY POPS. ENJOY WHILE IT LASTS.

Barrow still has not answered the question: where will the money come to fit all these public acquisition?

Give the man credit for maping out his life well—–by becoming a lawyer and enter into politic. he drafts the laws and benefit from it for life. You folks back there better stay up a little later at night and do some serious thinking how to control this run away animal. He does not make any allowance for desent. I have seen Congressman/women obstain from voting on legislation that was brought to the floor by their own party; that’s normal in the rough and thumble of politic, than can be like full contact Karate. But watch this man get all push out of shape because a so-call member obstain from voting one way or the other on his life saver piece of legislation.

Private sector should protect their rights to property and freedoms by voting against Barrow and the UDP in the next elections, or you too will find out the hard way, this man is about power and greed…

1 – I am Dean, and thou shalt have no other opinion that conflicts with mine.
2 I am the only one in Belize who has a brain. Anyone else who attempts to grow one is a direct threat to my administration and will be erased immediately.
    3. Only the Barrow family and those closest to us shall eat.
    4. Any institution, social organization or person who disagrees with my policies is automatically an enemy of the state.
    5. Any media house which does not make clear that are a puppet of the UDP shall automatically be considered ispired by the opposition. No media house shall be deemed neutral.
    6. Any business that was established under the past administration shall be deemed a PUP instrument and shall be financially destroyed.
    7. I shall use big words when I speak so that you can’t remember what I said and you won’t be able to hold me to task.
    8. I am not obligated to improve the lives of Belizeans because I can always blame the PUP for leaving the country in a bad state.
    9. I do not have to practice what I preach nor do I have to speak the truth because I am nothing more than a politician. You are to blame because you mistook me for someone who cares about Belizeans.
    10. The Government of Belize shall only serve UDP’s, or those whom we think voted for us.
