Police search nets anti-personnel mine

The Police Department has made a major find of a high powered weapon used by the US military. Police conducted several searches throughout hot zones and netted several items that they believe were intended to be for criminal activity. The most disturbing was the discovery of an M18-A1 Anti personnel mine with its detonator wires.  According to sources, it is a command-detonated mine, which means that it is fired by remote-control, shooting a pattern of metal balls into a kill zone like a shotgun. It has the capacity to fire steel balls out to one hundred meters within a sixty degrees arc. The military device is believed to be of U.S. origins and is mainly in ambushes against infantry and in some cases against unarmored vehicles.  But it is still alarming that it is found inside a home in the old capital, the specific location was undisclosed.  In addition to the device police also found a stolen motorcycle, several guns and shotguns, along with a homemade firearm, and several rounds of ammunition.

Hats off to our Police Dept. this is the kind of intelligence gathering and work the GSU should be doing, pro-active prevention-intervention, as oppose to tampering with and amending our constitution coupled with suppressing the rights of citizens. Keep up the good work BPD/GSU.

Its time that Belize set up an intelligence like the Swiss, where every citizen must report wrong doings, as a way of bringing down the criminal element that seem to have no regards for anyone, not even themselves, if they did have regards for themselves they would exstend the same to their fellow human being.

It may be necessary to treat this like a cockroach, if you see one, there are others. My suggestion, the next time you find one, tie the residents up, do what you have to do to secure your men & accidentally, on purpose, detonate it. They will use them against your officers as they patrol & the worthless family members & neighbors will look the other way until one of them gets hurt, then they will swear that the police or BDF did it. Blow their !@#$% up & let the gangsters decide which other gang did it, maybe they will wipe each other out & the law abiding folks can get a break after that.
