Should patrons of Saturday concert be refunded their money?

  1. Storm says:

Sure they should get refunds, or there should be a second, replacement concert “as advertised.”

Maybe the Miami Airport fire prevented performers from showing up, but someone got the money and kept the money, and the patrons got cheated.

And, what is with Shyne showing up to perform at 4 a.m.??? THAT’S RUDE, MAN. No respect for the fans! With an attitude like that, he’ll have a short career and leave a dirty taste in the public’s mouth. Sorry to say Belize’s biggest name performer is an “empty suit”!!!

  2. rod says:

i say no they deserve whey dey get go again next time too since you all know like father like son crooks crooks crooks.

  3. fromafar says:

NO, if you were stupid enough to want to go to a Shyne show… u deserve what you got!!!!

  4. BT says:

Maybe from now on concert goers should pay to get out of a concert, not buy a ticket to get in. If the artists actually show up and perform then you pay when you leave. You don’t pay in advance for someone to wash you car or chop your yard… time to do business with these so called promoters and artists the same way.

  5. Disgusted! says:

And who will give them the refund??? Shyne or his deadbeat father? Haaaaaaaa!!! Hell will freeze over before that happens.

  6. esmereldabz says:

Fair is fair and if you make a promise fulfill it, if you cannot… try and make it up! The money probably has already been spent; but since Shyne has made much money, he should refund those monies he took. His actions will leave Belizeans (mostly working class people) with a bad taste in their mouths especially since they are the ones who normally support these rappers/ singers even though they cry foul “life haad out yah” but can afford to buy new clothes to attend these concerts and pay for the tickets instead of saving and buying the “necessities” to survive in this life. Priorities! Priorities! Give them back their money so that hopefully their children can eat well.

  7. PISSEDBZN says:

LOOK PPL THIS WILL JUST BE A LOSS… U BOUGHT A TICKET, YOUR LOSS!!! NO REFUNDS OR RETURNS ON THIS TYPE OF CRAP… C’MON!!! ESPECIALLY IN BELIZE… ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? THIS SHOULDN’T EVEN BE A QUESTION!

  8. Proud Belizean says:

Yes. The people that paid for the show should be refunded. In fact, Shyne and/or promoters should be charged for obtaining property (money in this case) by deception.

Also an investigation should be launched to see whether they paid GST for this show, as the law requires.

  9. deedee says:

This show was doomed from the start…I say that because it appears that there was no contract what so ever involved. Had a contract being drafted up it would have stated what all parties involved should have been responsible for. Everyone is pointing fingers, its a “he say/she say” operation going on rite now about what happen. In this day & age you can’t take someone’s “word”, everything that was suppose to have been apart of the show should have been printed in BLACK & WHITE with signatures making it authentic.

  10. corf says:

I was iffy on this one because yes maybe they deserved it because they didn’t listen but Shyne and his crew sure as hell do not deserve to keep the money. Still not sure but like Disgusted said, who will give it back?

  11. David says:

I think people should just not attend another show of shyne’s. That would teach him a good lesson, and i don’t think people can get their money back but they can be patient and watch when shyne’s album comes out for it to be a flop. In their way they shouldn’t even buy or download any of his song’s he isn’t only giving himself a bad name but other well know artists too. Too bad for the people who bought or borrowed new clothes and got their hair done esmereld is right you could have done something better with that money but no use crying over spilled milk now is it?

  12. enuff mein! says:

what???????????????????????????????????? refund???????????????????????? for what????????????????? remember that it was a pre-release party. PARTY. not concert. you were fools to buy $50 tickets to go to a party anyway. really??????????? $50 to see platinum recording artists? what makes THEM so special? you think if you went to see rick ross, you too would become a recording artist? you think cuz u see a performer on stage you would some how benefit from that????? either way, you’re out $50. if u cut short light bill and water bill to see shyne, you dont have your priorities in order. you deserve what you get.

why unu no pay $50 fu come see regular old me? in fact, i wa give unu discount: $5. why is it that people with money get treated better than regular people? i dunno if u wanna call what shyne does “his talent”. seems that bze people treat him better than they treat their own bze ppl. ashamed to say.

  13. Nikita says:

Belizeans tend to accept mediocrity easily. We all know there was a high chance that the concert was not going to go as advertised. While I understand that fair is fair, we should just consider our money as going to a bad investment. Even if we wanted a refund there is no proof of purchase therefore we need to get over the past and make good decisions on who we want to support next time. Lesson Learned. Again

  14. Earl Grey says:

    NO REFUNDS…………..

    LET THIS BE A LESSON……..education costs money….$50.00

  15. crime free belize says:

No,it was merely a promise, not a binding contract written in blood.Besides,a promise is a comfort for a fool,or fool’s.Shyne on the other hand, never had belize at heart,he believes he is an american, and just recently became an israeli, anything but belizean.belize! let’s move on.

  16. hmm says:

it wasn’t a Shyne concert. it was a RItchie or Po People concert. SHyne was a paid artist. I don’t like Shyne but it wasn’t his concert so he shouldn’t be blamed.

  17. simon says:

Richie is the promotor and the organizer of the concert. He should be held responsible for the disgraceful show. We Belizeans should demand a refund from him. 3000 people at 50 tickets
150g plus if each person that when bought $20 in drinks thats another 60k in drinks . Plus he had bunch of sponsors another 25g. So that is 235g almost a 1/4 of a million dollars these Po People made and he is crying!!! I am the one that got rip off , for going!!!!
