Courtroom takes murder trial to Bowen & Bowen Crime Scene

The prosecution in the murder re-trial of Francis Robateau and Leslie Pipersburgh closed its case today after calling twenty-one witnesses. The jurors, judge, the accused as well as their attorneys and court orderlies were present at the locus this morning at the Bowen and Bowen compound on Slaughterhouse Road for clarification of evidence given during testimony. The re- trial started on March fourth before Justice Adolph Lucas and will continue this Tuesday when the defense presents its case. Robateau and Pipersburgh are both accused with the quadruple murder of Bowen and Bowen security officers Kevin Alvarez and Fidel Mai as well as Cherry Tucker and David Flores, who were shot in their vehicle while the two suspects fled the scene in June of 2002. Robateau and Pipersburgh were convicted in February, 2004 and appealed their case later that year. It went as far as the Privy Council in London, which reversed the previous rulings. Both are former employees of Bowen and Bowen. And by way of clarification, Elston Wade Jr. is disputing the venue of an altercation between two brothers. Wade says the argument did not happen at his house.

All convicted murderers must be executed. This pair should be the first to the gallows. We suffer from murderous depravity in Belize, and must cut it out like cancer. The option is to become the next Somalia. Do we want to leave such a country for our children?
