Repairs to BELCOGEN Factory on schedule

The need for new financiers is not the only issue that B.S.I. is tackling.  The disrepair of turbines at the BELCOGEN Plant has shut down production in what is expected to be a very successful year for cane farmers.  Carballo said that the repairs are going on schedule.

Via Phone: Belizario Carballo, Finance Director, B.S.I.

“With respect to the ongoing work at Belcogen to service the turbine, that work is progressing well. One of the back pressure turbine, or turbine number A as referred to in our press release has been dismantled, and is confirmed by our earlier diagnosis that it was indeed fouled. The rotor on the other related parts have been sent to Guatemala. They arrived in Guatemala yesterday at the facility that will be servicing it. At the same time, we currently are progressing with similar work on the other turbine to do similarly.”

“When do you expect that BELCOGEN will be back online?”

Via Phone: Belizario Carballo

“Well the time frame remains as indicated in the press statement noh; within the four week period. That remains unchanged at this time.”

“Ok so you’re looking in March?”

Via Phone: Belizario Carballo

“In early March, yes.”

Although B.S.I. is shut down, the Chairman of the Belize Sugar Cane Farmers Association has said that caneros are using the time to spray their fields while some have already begun to harvest their crop.

You see, sometimes its better for the news people to get the facts right. sometimes politicians run off too much in trying to create a crisis so that they can later say they have the answer to the vers same crisis they invented. I think Johnny should give the sugar industry a rest. All he does is create mischief and uncertainty.

repairs should be done DURING THE OFF SEASON.
