131 students of Stella Maris get their Christmas Party courtesy of Belize Bank
Earlier today, a Christmas party was held for the children of the Stella Maris School. The special needs school is in our neighborhood and as much as we could in the past, we have provided support to them. Their annual party therefore, is an event where we would have interaction with them. But when we showed up today, the Principal Joy Westby, told us that neither the children nor her would be able to give interviews on such a positive occasion. So that is why you will miss hearing from the children in this story with News Five’s Delahnie Bain.

It’s the party season and today the Stella Maris staff and students joined in the fun with their Christmas Bram, sponsored by the Belize Bank. There were plenty activities tailored to the kid’s abilities to make sure their party was as fun as any other.

“Today, we’re hosting a party for Stella Maris for a hundred and thirty-one of their students as well as their staff. They have thirty-eight staff so we have quite a big crowd out here today. This is the second year we’ve been doing this and we have the full works. We have games, prizes as well as the traditional Christmas meal and as well as a surprise from Santa Clause.”
“They approached us last year. This is something we did last year with them and it was fulfilling to see how happy they were. A lot of these kids don’t have much more Christmas to see so we try to make it as bright, as exciting as possible and just their smiles, rewarding enough. I have to say I have to thank the staff of Belize Bank and British Caribbean Bank International. They were very supportive in donating gifts to the children so each child has a nice gift to go home with as well as for volunteering on the day of the event. For us it’s just fulfilling to see the kids having a good time and having fun, giving them a little seasons greeting.”
The revelry kicked off at ten in the morning. The children were gifted by Santa Claus, were served the traditional Christmas meal and enjoyed themselves well into the afternoon.Email This Story
