Mother pleads for son who has rare brain condition

Glenford Lino

Another mother visited Channel Five studios looking for Good Samaritans. She’s not asking for hurricane assistance but it is for her son, twelve year old Glenford Lino, has been diagnosed with a rare brain condition called encephalitis. Lino was first admitted to the hospital because he constantly complained about headaches. But according to Nicole Lovell her son has only been getting worst and is now in need of tests and medical procedures that she can’t afford. She says the illness has caused him to become delusional and is potentially life-threatening.

“He’s been in the hospital from since then, three weeks now and to me he’s not getting better. To me, he’s getting worse because he went in there talking, laughing, eating, everything as normal and now at this time now he’s delusional. He’s talking out of his head, he’s not recognizing anybody and for a mother fi si dat frightening because I noh use to si my son like dat, I use to see him running about. Everybody weh know him—he goes to Martins School—and people we know him, the know him best as Jr. and he’s a little boy running about, acting up, doing things weh little boys do and for a mother to see her child like this is devastating to me.  The head scan came back ok like nothing really wrong with his head. They told me only like a lee minor injury to his head, like a lee swelling, just a minor swelling and the doctor told me that maybe dehn need fi go beyond di swelling and that cost like two thousand five thousand dollars and I noh really have the finances and I just want back my little boy.  I know he could do it, he could get better I just need di financial help.”

“Do you know if this condition is life threatening?”

Nicole Lovell

Yes, I looked it up on the internet and this had busted out in 1999 in New York City. It had killed about fifty people and the case is a very serious illness. I read that it could be caused by simple tick off dogs or mosquitoes.”

Any swellings on the brain is not a normal part of the brain function, seem like the doctors are at it again. There are different kinds of Encephalitis, you need to find out exactly which one he has, perhaps it can be treated with antibiotics.
There are so many things that can cause this infection that affects the brain, yet the most common viruses responsible for encephalitis would be ticks and mosquitoes, and measles, and so on. This sickness can caused permanent neurological damage, get help soon.
