Rep. of China on Taiwan donating 200 computers and martial art equipment

Restore Belize, the strategy launched by the Barrow administration to tackle the pressing issue of urban crime was launched two weeks ago, to much fanfare from the public and private sectors.  While it is still a bit too early to determine its effectiveness, the initiative has gained the support of Belize’s ally.  On Tuesday, the Embassy of the Republic of China on Taiwan announced that its government will donate two hundred desktop computers along with various martial arts equipment to GOB in support of the project. You may recall that in May 2009 Taiwanese President Ma Ying-Jeou, during a state visit to Belize, agreed to assist in the local ITVET programs.  Since the contribution coincides with government’s announcement to fight crime, and based on the understanding that law enforcement is necessary to protect citizens, the Taiwanese government also pledged to provide training in Taekwondo to the Police Department.

What will these computers do???? They need to be trained in agro-economics, that is the only way they will make money in the long run. Not everyone can get a computer job and Belize needs to learn to feed itself. We have too much land and too many idle hands, put them together. It woiuld be a win-win situation.
