Bradley vows to speak out, win or lose

Story Picture
In headaches of a political nature talk show host turned politician Dickie Bradley is demonstrating that he intends to keep speaking out — no matter which party is in power. Appearing on last night’s “One On One” show with new host Stuart Leslie, the candidate for Queen’s Square not only threw the expected barbs at opponent Dean Barrow but also assured viewers that if elected, he will tolerate no foolishness from his colleagues in the P.U.P.

“If I was a part, if God is willing and the party and team which I joined becomes the next Government in the next couple of months they cannot do those things. I say that to you; I tell you now publicly in front of these television cameras, there’s no way Mr. Musa, no way Mr. Fonseca, no way whoever wahn do any kind of wrong thing and think they wahn get away with it. They wahn try it once and get dehn neck wring off. If it can’t be done in Cabinet, I’m out of it. I make that sacred pledge to the people of Belize. Nobody wahn come co hustle ina dis party; nobody wahn try thief no public money; nobody wahn di chance up no citizens and become high and mighty like Mr. Barrow. I am the Attorney General, nobody will be arrested while I am here. Dat no wahn happen; not in dis party weh I belong to.”

In an interview on this morning’s breakfast show on FM 2000 Dean Barrow was unsparing in his criticism of Bradley and laid the groundwork for what appears certain to become the most bitterly and publicly fought race in the upcoming national election. Although sporting radically different styles, each man is acknowledged to be the most effective speaker in his party. A televised debate between the two candidates could turn out to be far more electrifying than any duel between their respective party leaders.
