He’s one of the hottest performers on the punta rock scene but many Belizeans know more about the music than the man. News Five’s Arreini Palacio caught up with Aziatic last week as he recorded his latest CD in Belize City.

“I constantly try to get stuff out, you know. That is what I strive for… excellence.”

Aziatic’s strive for excellence has brought him home to record his first CD album in Belize. His latest production, which is being recorded at Diamond Studios, is in collaboration with Stone Tree Records. According to the young punta rock artist there is much to look forward to in this new album.

Aziatic

“We are trying to work together to put down a different style, a different flavor that’s definitely hype, much more better than the two previous albums. So we’re working together to put on some energetic stuff, some crazy stuff.”

Energetic, yes… crazy, maybe. But that’s not all, as Aziatic is also adding an extra touch to his album.

Aziatic

“I got this new flavor going on. I plan on calling it, how I like that punta. It kinda has that Caribbean beat. We’re hooking it up. We’re trying to make it marketable world wide you know, we’re trying to get my music in the Caribbean wherever, you know. I’m just trying to get my music everywhere.”

And to achieve that goal often means enduring several hours of recording each day. But that’s a small price to pay for success.

“I didn’t know what to expect but it’s actually the same thing the equipments are the same actually. I am working with better equipment out here than I expected I would. So it’s pretty easy. I’m working with cool people out here so it’s actually easy.

The only hard times we have is electrical, and vocals are very hard sometimes, you have to make sure you get them right. You got to do them over and over and sometimes you get tired so it’s hard but it pays off.”

And just how big Aziatic’s latest effort will pay off will be judged by the release of his album in September. Arreini Palacio for News Five.

According to Ivan Duran of Stonetree Records, the vocals for the local production were completed last week and the instrumental mixing will be finished by the end of July. The CD will be ready for the September Celebrations.
