Eighty-two year old woman raped in Corozal

It appears tonight that nobody, absolutely nobody is safe from the criminal depravity which currently afflicts the nation… as police report that an eighty-two year old woman has become the latest victim of rape. The elderly woman from Corozal told police that on Tuesday around four in the afternoon, she was inside her home when she heard someone call her name. When the woman went outside, she saw a young man who police say she trusted. The man told the woman that her son was being held hostage by two other men and that he could take her to them. The woman followed him but when they got to Finca Solana, an area Corozal police say is used as a lover’s lane, it is alleged the young man pushed her into the bushes, stole her jewelry and then raped her. Superintendent Gerald Westby, the officer in charge of Corozal, told News Five that a sixteen-year-old boy, in the presence of his mother, has confessed to the crimes. The minor is expected to be charged by tomorrow with rape and theft. Five months ago, on August twenty-third, an eighty-two year old from Lemonal had reported to police that a man broke into her home, demanded money and then raped her. Thirty-seven year old Wayne Johnson was later charged for the crime.
