“I was at work when I received the phone call saying that something hit my father and he is dead. I called the hospital and they said that they had two bodies unidentified. I took a taxi from work and went to the hospital and when I got there and they showed me the clothing, I knew it was him. I went further on to the morgue and when I there morgue, I saw that it was my father. I identified the body and I went to the police station and when I got there, they had a guy by the name of Mr. Tillett hold. He claims that he is a J.P., so I guess that because he’s a J.P. it’s okay for him to commit murder. He’s the one that they got held. My father died from head injuries.”

“His breath was full of alcohol and I demanded that the police take a blood test from him and they stated that they already had. He lived in the Fabers Road Extension and my father walked out every morning, goes with some of his friends and then goes back home. I understand that my father was almost in the bushes walking this morning when the man came and knocked him down and went about his business. He could have at least picked my father up and take him to the hospital and I would have been satisfied.”

Welcome was the grandfather of popular Belizean rapper, Heavy D. Police continue their investigations into the accident.
