“They saw a motorcycle and a red ford ranger pickup which was involved in the collision. The motorcycle was extensively damaged and the motionless body of a male person later identified as Ruben Sho, thirty-five years Belize Defense Force soldier, was seen motionless on the road. Initial investigation revealed that the pickup was being driven by one Estevan Caliz, sixty-one years, and he was eastbound from Punta Gorda when the motorcycle rider, travelling in the opposite direction, veered into his lane causing the collision. The body of Mr. Sho was also seen with his left foot severed from below the knee. The body was transported to the Punta Gorda Community Hospital where it awaits a post-mortem examination which is scheduled to be done sometime later today. Blood and urine samples were taken from Mr. Caliz pending the investigation.”
