WPC Michelle Brown Committed to Stand Trial for Fareed Ahmad’s Murder

Michelle Brown

Charged for the murder of thirty-nine-year-old Fareed Ahmad, police constable twenty-four-year-old Michelle Brown was committed to stand trial by Chief Magistrate, Sharon Fraser. Brown’s trial has been scheduled to take place in the January session of the Supreme Court in 2019. The Chief Magistrate committed Brown after the prosecution submitted several statements and reports that they will use as part of their prosecuting case. Ahmad, a popular barber, was shot dead while driving his BMW SUV, before crashing into a parked pickup off the shoulder of George Price Highway between miles sixteen and seventeen on December twenty-eight 2017. Inside the car at the time of the incident was PC Brown who is the first woman police constable to be indicted for murder. Ahmad’s murder prompted a public outrage against the department’s Special Assignment Team which the Ahmad family alleged executed Ahmad.
