B.T.L. Earns $159 Million in Revenue in 2017

Belize Telemedia Limited, or Digi, as it has since been re-branded, held a media mixer on Tuesday night during which executives of the company presented a report covering the fiscal year April first 2017 to March thirty-first 2018.  They also provided an overview of the company, its main developments in business, as well as an assessment on the impact of its operations on finances.  In 2017, B.T.L. grossed one hundred and fifty-nine million dollars in gross revenues over one hundred and sixty-nine million dollars the previous year.

“This year for B.T.L. was a record year, yes, a record year in gross revenues as we hit the largest revenues for B.T.L. ever in history at a hundred and fifty-nine million.  That was a growth of two point one million or one point three percent increase.  Coupled with that, we had also, and we continued with strong operational cash flows of seventy-one point five million as it’s measured by the EBITDA, or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization which shows how strong the company generates its cash.  This was a margin of forty-five percent, but more importantly, the bottom line, yes, the bottom line saw an increase of ten percent over last year to twenty-two and a half million or an increase of about two million.  When we look then, at what were the areas, where did we grow?  How did the company make its largest revenue ever?  One area that we looked at is internet and this is very astounding, and the reason for that is because last year we had reported a decrease in terms of internet revenues and this year we are reporting an increase of one point five, so we have swung that around and that is due mainly to the fiber to the home expansion we have spoken about.”
