Corozal Police Crack Cases of Armed Robberies

Corozal police have been able to tie up a string of armed robberies in that jurisdiction after making several arrests in respect of incidents that were reported last week.  A trio of men has been arrested and charged for the crimes.  Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett shared details of the arrests.

“There has been a number of minor robberies within Corozal Town over the last week and intense police investigations have led to several arrests.  In relation to the first issue, on Wednesday last, the owner of Aquafina Water in Corozal, located on G Street, reported that sometime after eight p.m., whilst himself and two other employees were outside his business place, they were approached by two male persons, one of whom was armed with a firearm and they were taken inside the business place where they were relieved of monies and other personal belongings.  As a result, police’s intensive investigations have led to the arrest of one Danilo Lima and he has since been charged for three counts of robbery.  In relation to a second robbery which occurred on the twenty-seventh of September at Guang Toi Store on Seventh Avenue in Corozal Town, police were in the area sometime around 8:50 p.m. when they saw four male persons of dark complexion wearing dark clothing, running away from the business place.  As a result, a chase ensued where police eventually caught up with one of those persons who was identified as Xandon Myers, twenty-three-years-old.  Initial police investigation into this matter revealed that sometime around 8:50 p.m., four male persons of dark complexion, armed, entered the business place where an undisclosed amount of money was stolen.  Quick police investigation into this matter has resulted in the arrest of Xandon Myers, twenty-three-years-old, Nigel Gonzales and Michael Franklin, all for the crimes of robbery, whilst police are seeking one more person in relation to this robbery.”
