Kevan Jenkins No Longer CitCo’s Traffic Manager

Kevan Jenkins

Kevan Jenkins is no longer the Traffic Manager for Belize City. Jenkins who held the position for more than ten years was transferred to the Sanitation Department which he will now manage.  His sudden transfer has raised eyebrows as Jenkins has been part of the Belize City Traffic Department for more than two decades. On Wednesday the media asked Belize City Mayor Bernard Wagner to explain the council’s decision to transfer Jenkins.

Bernard Wagner, Belize City Mayor

“Nobody didn’t say when you get employed at a position you will stay there for your entire life. He has been there for thirteen years. His transfer is part of a greater process that we are doing, the restructuring and he falls within that. Nobody tells you that when you work at an organization that you will be in a position for your entire life. You always have the opportunity for upward mobility. Listen, Kevan still has his job. He is moving in a lateral position as a manager. He was a manager before. He continues to be a manager. I am saying listen, this is an opportunity for him to look at sanitation. His expertise and his longevity at the council will only do wonders at sanitation.”

The new Transport Manager is Jermaine Hyde.

We all know why he was moved; can we say “Taxi License and Permits”, which, by the way, the hustle is still being continued by the new representative in that department. Had the personal experience myself and few days ago, and if Channel 5 refuses to reprint this, I will publicly put it on Facebook myself. Mr. Wagner, the mayor, when you first won I congratulated you and warned you about a couple entities in your council which turned out to be true. Lead and govern with wisdom and God my friend because when you fall those who were pushing their agendas will be nowhere to be found. Guess who you’re going to turn back to, the same friends who you grew up with who most of us are professionals and haven’t called you for a single favour because that’s not how we are not do we need anything from you. You seemed to have forgotten your roots in such a short time and in your words; “I’ve been too busy.” Careful my friend.
